As players delve further and further into their aim training, they begin to put the pieces together for their overall accuracy, but many find that they struggle with their speed. Here, we\u2019ll break down the subset of \u201cspeed switching<\/a><\/strong>\u201d to help you develop and improve your speed, which you can apply to the other aspects of your aim.

There are two primary components to the skill of target switching: speed<\/strong>, and precision<\/a><\/strong>. Speed switching is a subset of target switching, which requires the ability to move your crosshair from one target to another, while also doing so rapidly. It’s a skill that can make or break moments in high-octane scenarios, where the back to back elimination of multiple opponents is the deciding factor between victory and defeat.

Speed switching takes the basic premise of target switching a step further by adding an element of urgency to your movements. It’s not just about the accuracy of moving from one target to the next, it’s about how swiftly you can execute that transition without sacrificing precision. This skill is particularly crucial in situations where you’re being simultaneously peeked by multiple opponents in VALORANT<\/a><\/strong>, or being ambushed by an enemy team in Apex Legends<\/strong>. Target switching holds a place in any shooter and the ability to swiftly redirect your attention from one target to another is critical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At its core, speed switching consists of a combination of motor skills, primarily target acquisition and the ability to make rapid adjustments. Speed plays a large role in target switching it allows you to minimize the window your opponent gets to react, while also ensuring that their position doesn\u2019t vary too much from the inception of your initial movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The featured task will work on your ability to switch between moving targets while focusing on speed. The task utilizes cube shaped targets that are moving quickly in strafing motions left and right in a semi circle around the player. Focus on elminating each target completely before transitioning to the next target, while maintaining your awareness of the moving targets position by the time your crosshair reaches them. Start by focusing on accuracy to get a feel for the task, then adjust to adding in speed, without sacrificing your precision<\/strong> on the targets.
