If you are relatively new to Fortnite<\/a><\/strong>, or returning after a long stretch away, you are probably struggling with the multitude of unique mechanics the game consists of, primarily the importance of building and playing around these builds. During this blog, we will focus on becoming proficient in close-quarters combat, a common theme newer players struggle with.

CQC (Close Quarters Combat) is potentially the most important mechanical component in Fortnite. Due to the game\u2019s fast-paced nature, the impact of shotguns, and the ability to quickly build defensive structures, most fights tend to take place in close-quarter scenarios. You may be able to land a couple of shots on an enemy player from a distance<\/a><\/strong>, but any player adept at Fortnite\u2019s core mechanics will have built a defensive structure and healed up long before you manage to follow up on your damage and secure a kill. Shotguns are also probably the most important weapon class to master in Fortnite.

Due to the fact that the majority of fights will be CQC situations and due to the high amount of damage these weapons can dish out in a single shot, shotguns have been part of the meta ever since the game was first released. The longer you survive in Fortnite, the smaller the storm\u2019s zone will become, forcing you to engage in more and more tightly packed CQC engagements, and that is where box-fighting becomes crucial.

Box fighting in Fortnite is a CQC tactic where players build defensive structures, typically in the form of boxes which are one-by-one structures, to gain the advantage in fights or help isolate yourself from uneven engagements<\/a><\/strong>. The term “box fighting” refers to the aforementioned box-like layout of these structures. In a box fight, players use the different building options such as walls, ramps, or floors to create enclosed spaces. These structures allow for quick edits, forcing the aggressor into CQC within a confined area.

The goal of box fighting is to outplay and eliminate opponents by using building and editing techniques effectively. It is commonly seen in competitive Fortnite play, where players frequently engage in intense CQC engagements, especially in the later storm zones. Successful box fighting requires a combination of building speed, editing precision, and accurate aim in the heat of the battle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This featured task<\/a><\/strong> will emulate a box fight where you and the opponent are enclosed within the same one-by-one space, forcing you to rely on constant adjustments to your aim as the target moves around within this confined space, making it harder for you to track its movement efficiently.

You will be restricted to a CQC environment and required to move to fill up the movement bar. The task places you in a 1v1 against a humanoid target that moves similarly to players within Fortnite, and you will be equipped with an SMG. Remember, reactivity is crucial<\/strong>, and keep moving<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
