If you are looking to excel at any low TTK<\/strong><\/a> game, you will have to master the art of wall peeking. Think of this as the bread and butter of any tactical shooter, especially when playing as an attacker. Wall-peeking\u2019s name describes it accurately; it is the act of peeking into an enemy\u2019s line of sight from behind cover<\/strong>.

Wall-peeking may sound simple in theory and in a lot of ways it is. However, there are some important takeaways to keep in mind! First, ensure your crosshair is optimally positioned. There will be times, inevitably, when you are already aware of the general position of an enemy, and you want to peek into them. In these cases, it is important to \u201cpre-aim<\/strong>.\u201d Do this by positioning your crosshair in a manner that ensures it aligns with the opponent\u2019s player model as you expose your own.

The most overlooked aspect of wall-peeking is positioning<\/strong>. One of the most common mistakes beginners make is that they tend to stand too close<\/strong> to the wall they\u2019re peeking, putting themselves in a highly disadvantageous situation<\/strong>. If you do this, the enemy holding the angle you are peeking into will spot your player model before you gain vision of theirs. This is a big issue in low TTK games such as Counter-Strike<\/a><\/strong> or VALORANT<\/a><\/strong>, as the winner of an aim duel is often determined by who gets to land the first shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following task<\/a><\/strong> will help you immensely in building upon your wall-peeking fundamentals, even though the task recreates a bombsite from VALORANT’s Haven, Counter-Strike and VALORANT are highly similar in their mechanics, making it a solid choice for either game.

The targets in this task are humanoid shaped and favor headshots, and they follow a movement pattern highly similar to how players will strafe and move in tac shooters. With the addition of varying elevation points, the task requires you to adjust your aim further to land your shots accurately. Remember, be present minded of your positioning. Don’t hug the wall, give yourself space as you peek the angle!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
