Apex Legends<\/strong> is a battle royale that borrows a lot of its core mechanics from the Titanfall<\/strong> series, which is why we see a lot of popular weapons from the series making a comeback in Apex Legends, one of which being the R-99<\/strong>. For those of you that have previously played games in the Titanfall series you probably remember the R-97<\/strong>, the current SMG\u2019s not-so-distant cousin, that shared the same high fire rate, low damage per shot profile, that similarly made it exceed in close-quarters engagements.

Mastering the R-99 is a combination of mastering its punishing recoil, as well as generally training your close-range tracking<\/a><\/strong> mechanics so that you can dish out as much damage as possible with every magazine; Bangalore<\/strong> wouldn\u2019t be too happy if we called them clips, \u201cclips are what civvies use in their hair\u201d after all.

The R-99 may seem like the toughest weapon to master at first, and indeed, it does have one of the highest learning curves and skill caps in the game, however mastering this SMG will be well worth it, as it boasts some of the quickest time to kill across any weapon in the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The featured task<\/a><\/strong> will train your ability to deal with consistently tracking close-range dynamic targets, ensuring that you gain the necessary edge in your aim duels the next time you get your hands on an R-99. The task challenges you to track a horizontally strafing pill-shaped target with infinite health. The target will stick close to the player’s position, requiring wider adjustments than usual, making it ideal for tracking up close! Stay loose, stay reactive, and keep that crosshair over the target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
