Long-range sniping is one of the most mechanically demanding skills in any shooter that features bullet drop and projectile travel time<\/a><\/strong>. Unlike hitscan weapons, where your crosshair placement at the moment you fire is all that matters, a sniper shot at range requires you to account for where the target is going to be when your bullet lands, not where they are when you click.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you are picking off gliding enemies in Fortnite<\/a><\/strong>, tracking a repositioning player in Apex Legends<\/a><\/strong>, or holding long angles in any shooter where bolt-action snipers have real bullet velocity and drop, the underlying mechanical demand is the same. You are leading a moving target at range with a weapon that punishes inaccuracy… so let’s put that into practice. The six tasks below isolate that specific skill in a controlled environment so you can build the habit before it has to happen in a match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All six tasks use a scoped sniper rifle with real projectile travel time, so scope in as you would in a live game. Start without any assistance to get a baseline feel for the lead distance at different ranges and target speeds. If you are an Aimlabs+<\/a><\/strong> member, enabling Shot Vision<\/a><\/strong> in Settings under the Targets tab will overlay a visual indicator showing you exactly where to place your crosshair to account for travel time. Run the tasks with it on, then off again, to measure the difference it makes to your consistency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ground Sniper<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A 360-degree scenario against moving ground targets. Targets can appear from any direction, so you are training acquisition and lead simultaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ground Sniper Centered<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The centered variant of Ground Sniper limits targets to directly in front of you. This is a good starting point if the full 360-degree version feels like too much at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Glide<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Glide Sniper<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Targets glide past from an elevated position and despawn if they drop below your tower. The time pressure forces you to commit to your shot. Particularly relevant if you play Fortnite or Apex Legends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glide Sniper Close<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Brings the targets in tighter with a shorter travel distance. Running this back to back with the standard version shows you how your lead distance needs to adjust as range changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sniper Peek<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A target randomly spawns on either side of a long corridor. You are training the full sequence of identify, acquire, lead, and fire rather than the lead in isolation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sniper Peek Far<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
