Master Tracking and Switching with the Apex Legends Aim Basics Routine
Looking to jump start your Apex Legends progress or lock in before you drop? The Apex Legends Aim Basics Routine prepares your aim for fast fights and constant movement. You train flicking, evasive target switching, precise tracking, and reactive tracking, built around how Apex plays. Each section reflects common fights like strafing duels, airborne targets, and sudden direction changes.
Much like the rest of the Aim Basics Routines series, this routine works as a daily training session or a warmup before dropping in to a match. It’s designed to provide you with training aimed around the specific Apex Legends aiming fundamentals, with a structure developed to help you practice and warmup quickly and efficiently in under 30 minutes.

Flicking:
Adjustshot Apex – In the first task on the routine, two targets placed on a wide wall. The targets are not fully static, as they have slight and gentle movement, making the scenario very effective for practicing proper flicking technique, combining a strong initial flick with controlled microcorrections caused by the subtle target motion. It includes an optional sniper ADS overlay, making it suitable for training a wide range of semi automatic weapons.
Strafeshot Multi Apex – The next task is a dynamic flicking scenario featuring 3 humanoid targets that spawn at different distances and heights, requiring multiple shots to be eliminated. Headshots deal double damage, and ADS and player movement are enabled but optional.

Evasive Target Switching:
Smoothswitch Apex – Kicking off the switching section is a target switching scenario with several targets flying gently around the player. Compared to most switching scenarios, this one leans more toward tracking due to its higher time-to-kill. It also includes health regeneration, meaning targets must be fully eliminated before moving on to the next one. ADS and player movement are optional.
Controlswitch Apex – This is a target switching scenario, featuring targets that are flying evasively around the player. It is even more tracking-oriented due to the targets’ more erratic, yet still readable, movement patterns. Like Smoothswitch, it uses health regeneration, requiring full eliminations before switching targets. ADS and player movement are optional.
Skateswitch Apex – The final switching scenario on the routine features three humanoid targets that strafe and jump evasively in front of the player. Headshots deal double damage, and ADS and player movement are enabled but optional.

Precise Tracking:
Horizontal Wide Track Easy – This precise tracking scenario features a small target that makes long, wide strafes in front of the player and bounces off the edges of the map. This task primarily trains pure horizontal tracking and smoothness, with the added element of wall bouncing.
Bouncesphere Apex Easy – Next up is a precise tracking scenario featuring a small target that performs high jumps around the player, with the ability to strafe in mid-air. This task trains precision and smoothness while mimicking in-game situations such as tracking a jumping Octane.
Controlsphere Apex – This control tracking scenario features a sphere that makes semi-evasive strafes around the player. It’s great for training target reading and micro-adjustments while tracking, while also serving as a transition scenario between pure precise and reactive tracking.

Reative Tracking:
Fartrack Apex Easy – This is a reactive tracking scenario featuring a pill-shaped target that performs both long and short strafes at medium to long range while also jumping. This scenario focuses on raw reactivity and target reading while maintaining an authentic in-game feel. ADS and player movement are optional.
Closetrack Apex Easy – The final task on the routine is a reactive tracking scenario, which features a pill-shaped target that performs both long and short strafes at close range while also jumping. The scenario focuses on raw reactivity and target reading while maintaining an authentic in-game feel. ADS and player movement are optional.
