Improve Your Wall Peeking on VALORANT’s Split
Wall-peeking in Tac shooters such as VALORANT or Counter-Strike 2 may seem simple, but there are a few crucial key points to remember. First, ensure your crosshair is well-positioned, maintaining head level and adjusting your horizontal placement as needed. When you have a general idea of an enemy’s location, “pre-aim” by aligning your crosshair with where the opponent’s player model is expected to appear as you peek into their position.
Positioning is quite often overlooked in wall-peeking by novice players. A common mistake is standing too close to the wall, something which directly puts you at a disadvantage. In this position, the enemy will see you before you can spot them, due to how your cone of vision works in VALORANT, exposing your shoulder to their line of sight before you get the chance to catch a glimpse of your foe. Avoiding situations like this is critical in low TTK games where the first shot often decides the outcome.

This featured task will help you improve your wall-peeking fundamentals. By using a recreation of the popular VALORANT map “Split”, this training will further ensure your ability to recreate these mechanics out on the battlefield.
Position yourself further back from the wall, strafing side to side to see a cylindrical target at a variety of different depths and heights down each lane that you peek. The target will alternate side to side after each kill, so strafe back and forth to shoot the target as quickly as possible. Remember to place your crosshair in a position where the target is likely to be as you strafe out, and give yourself enough room to have a quality angle on each peek.
