How to Master Iso’s Double Tap in VALORANT

Looking to expand your agent pool or are you just wanting to improve your handle on Iso's Double Tap ability? Check out this practice method!

Iso, VALORANT’s seventh duelist released in their agent lineup, comes equipped with some highly interesting abilities that are going to appeal to the aim focused players, so let’s get into them. Iso’s first ability is called Contingency, this ability allows Iso to send forward a moving energy barrier that is impenetrable by bullets. This ability does not have an HP limit; therefore, it can’t be broken. The second ability Iso has in his arsenal is called Undercut, Undercut sends out a pulse of energy that passes through solid objects, inflicting anyone hit by the ability with the fragile debuff, which increases any damage they receive for 4 seconds.

Iso’s third ability is called Double Tap, which we will mainly focus on throughout this blog. This is the bread and butter of Iso’s kit. While the ability is activated, an orb spawns whenever Iso secures a kill. This orb is positioned above the enemy player, and upon shooting it, Iso gains a temporary shield. This shield is unique to any other shield in the game, instead of having a set amount of HP after which the shield breaks, double tap will entirely block a single instance of damage received by ISO while it is active. By “instance” of damage, this means absolutely anything. Headshot by a vandal? Head’s intact. Shot in the chest with an operator? Still alive. Took a Raze rocket to the face? Not a problem.

Any singular instance of damage dealt to Iso whilst his shield is active will be blocked. Mastering both swiftly tapping at an orb and resetting your aim in time and also knowing when to activate the ability in advance, are both crucial aspects of being efficient as Iso. Iso’s ultimate Kill Contract also functions in a unique manner, making him more of a duelist than his peers, but we can explore that in the future.

VT Iso Shot Varied on Aimlabs

This featured task will train your ability to swiftly activate Iso’s shield by prompting you to shoot at Double tap orbs and reset your crosshair placement in time to eliminate the next target. Getting used to the flow of shooting at an orb and resetting your aim will be crucial in performing well on Iso. First, you’ll see the humanoid target representing an enemy player, with the orb spawning after that target is eliminated. Body shots earn half of the score that headshots provide, so focus on landing those headshots to maximize your score! Keep in mind, the orb’s position will be varied, so it won’t be perfectly above the humanoid target each time.
